Bear Dance-Headstart

Erica had the Bear Dance for Headstart today. Ethan got to go with me. He was a little afraid of the bear to begin with.

Annie's 7th Birthday

So far this is all I've found of her birthday.

Recital 2010

Roosevelt Academy of Arts: Aaron did hip hop again; Ammon did tumbling, winning 2nd place with his 5:22 headstand; Annie, Emily and Erica did dance.

 I know this isn't the best picture, I don't know if it was the flashy costumes that were interfering with the camera or what.

To get a job or not to get a job? That is the question.

So Michael has been after me since about the beginning of the year to get a job. Ok, so I applied to some, but didn't get any of them. I don't know how I really feel about this, it wouldn't have been to bad before but it's almost summer and the kids will be home, what do I do with them while I'm working. It's not worth it to pay for childcare for them just for me to go to work, I wouldn't ever come out ahead.

I've tried the working at home deal and they are just not worth it, they either are just a fraud or I flop at them. I really don't want to work. What's a mom supposed to do??

Un'expected' News

Michael and I took a night away for our anniversary last month. We stayed at a nice hotel and enjoyed dinner out. That evening when we went to leave for dinner as I moved to get up from laying on my stomach on the bed I felt a familiar twinge in my lower abdomen that I have only ever felt when I was pregnant. I quickly did the calculations in my head and realized that I was indeed two weeks late. But having had too many losses and disappointments I wasn't ready to celebrate just yet. In fact I didn't even say anything to Michael. When we got home on the 27th I took a pregnancy test and got a positive. I figured that my due date should be the 25th of October. I just hoped that I didn't lose this baby.

Aaron's 10th Birthday

I took pictures at Aaron's birthday but didn't get around to uploading them to my computer. Someone took my SD card out of my camera and the card got destroyed, so I never got the pictures off of it. :( Sad, sad day.

Now what???

So Christmas is over, the tree is down, the presents are all put away, the kids are fighting over the wii that Santa brought....I'm looking forward to the week being over so the kids can go back to school. It's seven hours less a day that I have to listen to them fight with each other. Oh well I guess that's how it is when there are six kids trying to play together.

Since I blogged last I found a used computer at a yard sale, we've had to buy a new dishwasher, the stove is next on the list, the oven only works about 25 percent of the time, the dryer is starting to smell like it's burning. The blower motor for the heater in the van is almost dead, it will only work if you pop the hood and tap on the motor. We've moved the family room furniture to the living room because we've had to close off the family room to keep the rest of the house heated on account of the blower moter in the gas fireplace going out. Good thing we have an extra room. Can anything else quit or stop??

On a brighter note, we had a good Christmas. Spent Christmas Eve with the Anderson's, went caroling, had dinner, read the Christmas story, sang some songs and then the kids opened their presents from Grandma and Grandpa. On our way home we took a few detours and looked at some lights because we hadn't done that yet this year and the kids really wanted to see some. I wasn't too impressed with the decorations this year, there just didn't seem to be many.

On Christmas we got the kids up early and they opened presents before Michael had to go to work, then we packed up and went to Aunt Tattie's for breakfast and gift exchange there. Then we bundled up and went to what they call their property. Some acreage they have to the west of Duchesne, were they have trails built that they ride their four wheelers on, this time they rode the snowmobile and pulled an old car hood around behind the four wheelers. The kids all had a blast. Michael was supposed to get off somewhat early but a bunch of loads got called in so he had to stay and pull them.

Erica's 4th Birthday

Erica was spoiled with her birthday presents today. Again we celebrated today because of Michael's schedule.

Ammon's 8th Birthday

Ammon turned 8 yesterday but with Michael's schedule it was easier to have the birthday party tonight.
